The Origins
The Foundation was founded in 1964 due to a large amount of money collected from overseeing the administration of the Polio Vaccine. Our members provided their services on a pro bono basis. The vaccines were supplied and administered by physicians, nurses, pharmacists and pharmaceutical companies. The program charged a mere quarter for its administration. The program received more people than anticipated by the administrator and collected quite a large sum of money even after accounting for all expenses. The Board decided to form a 501-c-3 corporation with the intent todistribute the money in the form of scholarships for medical, pharmaceutical and nursing students. Sorry, but Pre-med students are NOT eligiable for this program.
Contributions
Contributions are the backbone of the foundation. It is because of our gratious donors that we are able to help students continue their education and therefore contribute to the betterment of our healthcare system. If you would like to contribute to the scholarship fund, please contact Brian Obser at 732-257-6800 or .
